Is your Bolt site visible to Google and AI crawlers?
By the Why Won't AI team · Published · Last updated
As of November 2026, most Bolt projects build the page in the browser, and Bolt's help center describes a feature called SEO Boost that makes a ready HTML copy of each page for search engines. SEO Boost is off by default and appears only on projects with a custom domain, which Bolt offers on its Pro plan. Bolt's page does not list which AI crawlers get the copy, so check it on your own site.
Check what you have
- In Bolt, open All project settings, then Domains & Hosting. If you see Enable SEO Boost, it is off.
- If your site is on a free bolt.host address, SEO Boost is not available.
- Open your published site, choose View Source (not Inspect) and look for your headline. If it is not there, crawlers that do not run JavaScript cannot see it.
Why you can be in Google but not in ChatGPT
Google can run JavaScript, later, after it crawls a page. AI crawlers such as GPTBot and ClaudeBot do not. A page that reaches Google after rendering can still reach an AI crawler empty.
Ways to fix it
- Connect a custom domain and turn on SEO Boost, then check what each AI crawler gets, not only Google.
- Build the pages you want cited with a framework that renders on the server.
- Use a prerender service that serves every AI crawler, not only search engines.
Questions people ask
Is SEO Boost on by default?
No. Bolt's help center says it is disabled by default, and the option shows only when a custom domain is connected.
Can I use SEO Boost on the free plan?
Custom domains are a Pro feature, and SEO Boost needs a custom domain, so not on a free bolt.host address.
Does SEO Boost help with AI assistants?
It gives search engines a full page. Bolt's page does not say which AI crawlers get it. Request your page as GPTBot or ClaudeBot to check.
