Is your Replit app visible to Google and AI crawlers?

By the Why Won't AI team · Published · Last updated

As of November 2026, it depends on how your app was built and published. Replit's docs say Static Deployments deliver pre-rendered HTML that search engines can read at once. Other apps depend on whether the code renders pages on the server. Replit runs an SEO audit after each publish, but that audit loads the page in a browser that runs JavaScript, so it can pass while an AI crawler still gets an almost empty page.

Check what you have

  • Note your deployment type in the Publishing tool: Static, Autoscale or Reserved VM.
  • Read the SEO rating after you publish. Replit shows the lowest rating across the pages it checked.
  • Open your live app, choose View Source (not Inspect) and look for your headline. If it is not in the raw HTML, AI crawlers cannot see it.

What Replit's audit checks

Replit runs a Lighthouse audit on your live URLs and groups issues into AI Readiness, Crawlability and Discovery, Landing Page Rendering and Metadata, and Performance. Its SEO Agent can fix many of them, such as titles, meta descriptions, robots.txt, sitemap.xml and Open Graph tags.

Ways to fix it

  • For marketing pages, blogs and docs, use a Static Deployment.
  • For an app, ask Agent to render the public pages on the server.
  • Use a custom domain, so search engines and AI tools see one stable address.

Questions people ask

Is a good Replit SEO rating enough?

No. The rating comes from a browser that runs JavaScript. AI crawlers that do not run it can still get an empty page. Check the raw HTML too.

Is SEO Agent free?

Replit's docs describe SEO Agent as available to builders on a paid plan.

Which deployment type is best for SEO?

Replit recommends Static Deployments for content-heavy, SEO-critical sites.
