Is your v0 site visible to Google and AI crawlers?

By the Why Won't AI team · Published · Last updated

As of November 2026, usually yes. Vercel says v0 builds Next.js apps with the App Router and Server Components, rendered on the server by default, so most pages reach crawlers as full HTML. The gaps come from content that loads in the browser after the page opens, from pages behind a login, and from settings on your host or CDN that turn crawlers away.

Where gaps come from

  • Content that a client component fetches in the browser after the page loads.
  • Pages that need a login or a cookie banner choice before they show content.
  • Bot protection or firewall rules that block AI crawlers before they reach the page.
  • Missing or shared titles, descriptions and canonical links on some routes.

Check what you have

Open a page, choose View Source (not Inspect) and look for the main text, not only the headline. Do this for a few page types: home, a product or feature page, and a blog or docs page.

Ways to fix it

  • Fetch public content on the server, in Server Components, not in the browser.
  • Keep marketing and docs pages outside any login.
  • Check your host's bot and firewall settings for AI crawlers.

Questions people ask

Does v0 render on the server?

Vercel's v0 announcement says v0 uses the Next.js App Router and Server Components and renders on the server by default.

Why would an AI crawler still see an empty page?

Parts of a page that load only in the browser are missing from the HTML the server sends. AI crawlers do not run JavaScript, so they miss those parts.

Do I need a prerender service?

Usually not on a server-rendered Next.js site. Fix the parts that load in the browser instead.
